Do you love books and reading? Do you enjoy organizing and helping people?
Do you want to learn how a library works?
If you answered yes, consider the High Plains Junior Librarian Program!
Fourth and fifth-grade students are invited to participate as Junior Librarians. Duties include checking in returned books, shelving books, organizing shelves, and maintaining order in the library. Student participation is based on behavior and subject to teacher approval.
Interested students must play an online game called Shelver to demonstrate their mastery of the Dewey Decimal System and other shelving policies. After completing all levels of the game, students will become interns and start handling books in the library.
If you are interested, fill out the Google Form and Mrs. Scarpella or Ms. Leach will contact your teacher for the best time to complete your training.
